Sponsored by The Daily Advertiser, Times of Acadiana and the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. The festival will be held on the grounds of Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum including the A. Hayes Town Building, The Plaza with the Waterfall, as well as inside the main Museum.
The festival opens at 1:00 p.m.  Our program begins with presentations, seminars, demonstrations and musical performances. This year we introduce a new “Watch and Ask” series which is a variety of artist and chef demonstrate their craft. Scheduled presentations include The Collector’s Eye: starting an art collection, featuring Sylvia Schmidt from New Orleans and Mark Tullos, Hilliard Museum Director. Robert and Jolie Shelton will discuss the history of their world renown Silver Collection and the lost art of fine dining. UL Lafayette Faculty members Chan Kiat Lim and Shawn Roy will present music from their new CD of 20th Century American Composers. Artist George Loli, will take guests on a tour of Italy through his drawings and paintings, and Hot Pepper expert and connoisseur, Troy Primeaux will introduce the art cooking with a variety of peppers. Finally artist, Shawne Major will provide a tour of her current exhibition for festival VIP guests. Festival goers will also enjoy music on the Plaza with the Tommy Shreve Trio and the Louisiana Classical Guitar Society: Andrew Angelle, Brian Gaudino, Kurt Boudreaux, Sam Broussard and Mark Willis.
After an afternoon of engaging programs, the Grand Tasting provides the finale for the day from 4 – 7 p.m.  Over a dozen of Acadiana’s finest restaurants and chefs will present and pair their creations with quality wines. Grand Tasting restaurants include: Bella Figura, Blue Dog Café, Bistro Byronz, Boogie Goose, Carpe Diem, Cochon, Café Vermilionville, Jolie’s Bistro, Pour, Pane’ & Vino, and the Village Café.
Tickets are available at several levels - $45 per person general admission, $65.00 VIP per person, $35 per person for UL Faculty and Museum Staff, $25 per person for UL students. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Tickets can be purchased on line at in the museum store or by calling the museum office at (337) 482-0817.
The Hilliard Museum at University of Louisiana at Lafayette's serves one of the most diverse audiences in the country. Our mission, bridging university and community, art and education, generations and cultures has never been more fully realized than it is today.  This event is a main fundraiser for the museum.
