Put your micro wave to use for about 8 minutes then your oven and finish baking for another 20 minutes. Here's how; Preheat your oven to 450˚F. While your oven is coming up to temperature, scrub your potatoes, poke a few holes in each potato, and mircrowave on high power for 4 minutes. Turn the potatoes over and microwave for another 4 minutes. Now transfer your potatoes to an oven rack placed in the middle position in your oven. Cook until a skewer glides easily thorugh the potato, about 20 minutes. 

Note:You can cook about 4 medium potatoes at a time this way, for fewer potatoes allow just 2 minutes per side in the microwave.
