The Poke Salad Festival is a weeklong, family-friendly event that features a treasure hunt, carnival, food, children’s activities, live entertainment, contests and a parade.

The daily treasure hunt starts on Monday, May 7 for all to participate in a race to win $1000. Five clues will be announced daily on TV, radio, in the newspaper and on the treasure hunt webpage (http://www.pokesaladfestival.net/treasurehunt2.htm).

The carnival offers free general admission, but carnival goers can purchase wristbands for unlimited rides in advance for $15 at Doug's Paint and Body Shop, Blanchard Insurance and Blanchard Town Hall. Wristbands can still be purchased at the gate for $18 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. This carnival features food, childrens' activities and live entertainment. The live entertainment is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday.

The Poke Salad parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday morning in front of Blanchard Elementary School and rolls through the downtown area with marching bands, dance lines, fire trucks, car clubs, horses, clowns, and more.
