Reserve 4th of July Celebration

Event Description: 
St. John the Baptist Parish Independence Day Celebration Along the River
Time:  Fireworks show begins at 9:00 p.m

Independence Day Celebration  The fireworks display is handled by Pyrotecnico who works with the Coast Guard and the State Fire Marshal's Office to ensure all safety measures are taken.  The Mississippi River is closed to ship traffic while the fireworks are ignited from a barge. 

Residents may gather on the grounds of St. Peter's Church in Reserve or the Courthouse in Edgard.  The fireworks show begins at 9:00 p.m. and lasts approximately twenty (20) minutes.  Refreshments are sold.  The event will be filmed and broadcast live on the government access channel (Channel 15) so residents can view from home. Over the years attendance has consistently grown to 9,000 people viewing the show on both the east and west banks of the river.
