Courir de Mardi Gras + music by Pine Leaf Boys | 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Join us at Vermilionville on Saturday, January 31st from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for our annual country Courir de Mardi Gras in the village with the Basile Mardi Gras Association. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 10:00 a.m. to avoid waiting in line. Follow the Basile Mardi Gras runners from house to house as they beg for ingredients for a communal gumbo (11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), participate in a chicken catch competition and enjoy music by the Pine Leaf Boys from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Other activities will include king cake making demonstrations, capuchon making, and much more! Admission is $5; children under 3 get in free. |
