Louisiana Strawberries with Balsamic and Black Pepper

Ingredients: 
  • 2 pints Louisiana strawberries, cleaned and hulled
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons best quality aged balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Maldon sea salt
  • vanilla ice cream, Creole cream cheese, or Greek yogurt (regular, low fat, or non fat), for serving (optional)

Method: 

Toss strawberries in a medium bowl with balsamic vinegar, sprinkle with black pepper and toss. Divide berries into 4 small bowls atop ice cream, Creole cream cheese, or Greek yogurt (optional). Sprinkle each serving with a few shards of Maldon sea salt. Serve.
