Bill & Aimee Go To Oktoberfest
Join Aimee and I as we a once in a lifetime trip to Oktoberfest 2016 into a multi-city European adventure. Follow the YouTube links for each episode as Aimee shares our journey as only she can.
Episode 1: The Expiration Date
Did you know that when traveling to Europe the expiration date on your passport is not always the expiration date? We did not; but when we got to the airport on the morning of our flight we were informed that our return to the states needed to occur 6 months prior to the actual expiration date – which for us was only one month away!
Episode 2: The Charles River
On our first day in Prague, we found a cool bar, off the beaten track and right on the river. As you can see, it looks like someone dropped the trailer off an 18-wheeler, put some chairs on top and hooked up a few kegs. Good idea!

The Charles Bridge crossing the Vltava River in Prague; also my audition shot for postcard school.
Episode 3: Old Town Square
Sorry folks, no Aimee today, just the sights and sounds of the Prague Orloj, a medieval astronomical clock located on the Old Town Hall. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still in operation. That is the gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn, which has been the main church of this part of the city since the 14th century, you see at the end of the clip.
Episode 4: Ahoj Prague, Guten Tag Munich
Aimee recalls the very busy last couple of days highlighted by lunching at a monastery, the fun Urban Adventures Beer tour, and how the Little Quarter side of the river is cooler than the Old Town side.
Episode 5 & 6: We’re Finally Here!
Lots of beer, castles built by the super-rich Wittelsbach dynasty, and Aimee looks awesome in a dirndl.

We took a break from drinking litres of beer, well sort of, for a trip to Schloss Neuschwanstein. This castle of Bavarian King Ludwig II is actually mostly unfinished and was Walt Disney’s inspiration for his them park’s Cinderella Castle.
Episode 7: Auf Wiedersehen
Aimee’s last update from Oktoberfest from inside the Hofbräu-Festzelt. One of the largest tent at the festival, it takes 3 months to erect.

No explanation necessary…
Thanks for joining us on our adventures to Prague and Oktoberfest. There was much drinking going on, but fortunately living in New Orleans prepared us well. I suppose the most important thing we learned is that the expiration date on your passport needs to be at least 6 months later than your scheduled return to America. Until Aimee’s next adventure – Prosit!!
