The Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival is two days of fabulous Southern Cuisine, live music on two stages, a Vendor’s Village, a Judged Soul Food Cooking Competition and a Pioneer Award for culinary excellence. The family friendly event is free to the public. Lawn seating so bring your chairs.

The Soul Food Cooking Competition, highlights regional favorites from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Categories include Entrees, Vegetable and Side Dishes, Breads and Desserts, Appetizers and Soups. Criteria includes Presentation, Taste, and the Story or History behind each dish.

Music genres include blues, soul, funk, R&B, Gospel, rock and reggae performed by solo acts and bands from Louisiana and other parts of the country. Acts expected to appear are Henry Turner, Jr. & Flavor and the Listening Room All-stars such as Uncle Chess and the Groove, Lee Tyme and Larry “LZ” Dillon.

VIP tickets with food, drinks, photo ops, covered seating and more are available on the website along with the Cooking Competition entry forms
