The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office will hold its annual Big Bass Tournament on Vernon Lake on March 16, 2013. Entry fee for the tournament is $25 per person and $5 per person to get in the Big Bass contest. If you pre-register, you may launch from any point on Vernon Lake. Contestants wishing to register that morning, must do so at Bevins Landing on McConathy Road in Anacoco. Tournament hours are from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. Weigh-in time is 3:00 pm at Bevins Landing -- anyone who is late for the weigh-in will be disqualified. Fifty percent of the proceeds will be given away as prizes while the rest will be donated to Relay for Life.
