New Orleans Chinese Association will hold a week-long Chinese Culture Festival. The festival will include photo exhibits; children’s activities; food tastings; Chinese ceremony; crafts shows; musical performances, etc. The Academy of Chinese Studies and Confucius Institute at Xavier University will also join as co-sponsors. In addition, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston will be providing assistance with the supplies of the festival’s decoration and exhibitions. As the mission of the association is to forge a closer tie between the Chinese community and the rest the communities in the metropolitan area, they hope this event will help increase the communication and strengthen the relationship.
