4th Annual Fête du Vin: Baton Rouge Epicurean Society’s Premiere Wine Tasting | |

Baton Rouge Epicurean Society will host it’s the 4th Annual Fête du Vin to a new time and place, Juban’s Restaurant. Over 100, wine enthusiast will be able to taste rare and elite wines from purveyors and private collections. Featured from the private cellar donations is the Chateau d'Yquem, Sauternes 1988. Yquem has been considered one of the best, if not the best, dessert wine for hundreds of years with that distinction goes a price tag with some calling it liquid gold to reflect its cost and color. It is being donated by a collector with a passion for high end dessert wines. One of the wines selected by the Fête du Vin committee includes 2013 Joseph Phelps Insignia marks the 40th vintage of our flagship Napa Valley wine. Deeply pigmented, the 2013 Insignia opens with heady blackberry and plum aromatics laced with baking spices, cardamom and espresso. Focused and fresh, this exceptionally concentrated wine showcases elegant tannin structure and a silky mouthfeel layered with dark fruit, sweet vanilla bean, cracked black pepper and bittersweet chocolate. While experiencing this high-end wine tasting, attendees can try dishes from award winning chefs which are listed below, bid on a silent auction which includes a large format bottle of Plumpjack wine signed by vineyard proprietors.
