Admission is free and open to the public.
“Wings over Natchitoches” will take place on Saturday, September 13 at the Natchitoches Regional Airport located at 450 Wallenberg Drive in Natchitoches. The gates will open at 10:00 a.m., and the Aerobatic Air Show will begin at 12:00 noon weather permitting.
The Aerobatic Air Show will feature nationally and internationally acclaimed pilots and aircraft including Rob Holland, the 2012 recipient of the Art Scholl Award for Showmanship – the highest honor an air show performer can receive, and Coushatta native Kevin Coleman, the youngest aerobatic pilot in the country. “We’re looking at some of the best pilots in the world,” stated Edd Lee, Natchitoches Regional Airport Director. The air show is expected to last approximately two hours.
Another event taking place at the Natchitoches Regional Airport on Saturday, September 13 is a regional fly-in and cook-out hosted by the Natchitoches Aviators (EAA Chapter 1526). Fellow pilots and aircraft from the surrounding region will be visiting. Food and drinks will be available on site for the public.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and plenty of sunscreen. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Alcohol, ice chests and pets are strictly prohibited. Admission is free.
“We are hoping that this will become an annual event for families to enjoy,” said Lee.
