How often do you open up a can of tomato paste, use the tablespoon or two a recipe calls for, and end up throwing the rest of the can away? No more: using a can opener, cut both ends off the can of tomato paste. Remove one end, and use the other to push the tube of tomato paste off onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Wrap it up tightly and freeze; slice off pieces as you use them. One tablespoon should be approximately 1/2" of the tube of tomato paste.
