If you find the beauty of an aquarium a peaceful counterpoint to typical New Orleans nightlife, this is your opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds. This Friday, September 11, is the 6^th Annual Scales & Ales to support the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas’ conservation efforts and education programs. Partygoers will enjoy Bites and Brews including: Abita Beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and delicious cuisine from more than 40 local restaurants. The evening’s entertainment will feature the world’s premier video DJ, Roonie G, and local sensation DJ Brice Nice.

Scales & Ales is the signature fundraiser for Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. You have the once-a-year opportunity to support the education and conservation initiatives of the Aquarium while enjoying the Aquarium and Woldenberg Park in a unique, adult-only setting. Examples of supported activities include the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program andthe Junior Naturalists and AquaKids youth programs.

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas will open only until 2pm on Friday to prepare for this event. The Entergy IMAX® Theatre will be closed for renovations. A limited number of discounted parking spaces will be available at the Canal Place Parking Garage. Validation will be available at theScales & Ales entrance and exit on a first come, first serve basis.

Most importantly, the Aquarium exhibits are open during Scales & Ales, but remember the bedtime for sea otters and penguins is 8:30!
