Battered Fried Crawfish Tails

Serves 4

Ingredients: 
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup evaporated milk
  • ½ teaspoon prepared mustard
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pound large, peeled crawfish tails
  • oil for frying

Battered Fried Crawfish Tails

Method: 

In a bowl, beat egg; add milk, mustard, salt, pepper and garlic powder and mix well.

In another bowl, sift flour, corn meal and baking powder together and mix well.

Dip crawfish tails into the egg mixture one at a time, drain a little and dip into the flour mixture. Drop into hot oil at 375˚F and fry until golden brown, drain on paper towels.

Is it ok to use precooked frozen crawfish tails?
