Crisp Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Cream together the butter, shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the egg and vanilla and maple extracts and beat until light and fluffy.
Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt and, with the mixer motor on low, gradually add to the creamed mixture.Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto cookie sheets and bake for 12 - 15 minutes, until lightly browned.
