If you're like me you have always wondered what figgy pudding actually is. Well, figgy pudding is much like a fruit cake and not like what we traditionally think of as pudding. Basically, it's a steamed fruit cake but forget everything you've ever thought about a fruit cake. Yes, this is a cake-like with dried fruit, but this tasty dessert is soaked in warm rum.

Figgy pudding is made in a pudding or bundt pan or can be made in individual portions in ramekins. It is served flambe style i.e. warm rum poured over top and lit with a match. Sweet with the aroma of holiday spices, figgy puddings are an outstanding holiday dessert!
