Fried green tomatoes:

  • 2 large green tomatoes, cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup fine cornmeal
  • 1 cup canola oil

 

Pimento mayonnaise:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 roasted red bell pepper, peeled, seeded, finely chopped

  • 1 cup diced yellow onion

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1 cup diced green onion tops
  • 1/2 cup goat’s milk or low-fat milk
