The Seventh Annual Iowa Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on Saturday, August 22 

This event is free & open to the public thanks to these generous sponsors: Calcasieu Parish Public Library, Friends of the Library, Calcasieu, the Town of Iowa, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Capital One Bank, the Iowa Police Department, and the Iowa Volunteer Fire Department.

Live entertainment, light refreshments, arts and crafts demonstrations, pony rides and displays are all part of this year’s scheduled events. On-site demonstrations will include:

  • 9:00 a.m.: Shriner Clown “Hobo Bill & friends” creates balloon art for children.
  • 9:00 a.m.: Emma Hughes – Basket Weaving demonstration (9-11)
  • 9:00 a.m.: Rex Alexander – Pottery making demonstration (9-11)
  • 9:00 a.m.: Iowa Volunteer Fire Department/Fire truck• 9:30 a.m.: Story hour featuring magician, David Leboeuf
  • 10:30 a.m.: “Ponies R Us” pony rides
  • 11:30 a.m.: Scottish bagpipes featuring Adam McBride
  • 12:00 p.m.: Emma Hughes – Basket Weaving demonstration (12-2)
  • 12:00 p.m.: Rex Alexander – Pottery making demonstration (12-2)

Artisans whose works will be on display include:• Rod Talbot• Emma Hughes• John Chaumont• Rex Alexander• Frank McDonald• The Literacy Council• Mary Guidry-Ringo• Carrie Chrisco• Betty’s NoveltiesMagician David LeBouef will entertain those in attendance with his magical feats and humor at 9:30 a.m. followed by musician Adam McBride who will play the traditional Scottish bag pipes at 11:30 a.m.
