When:
Nov 8, 2014
Louisiana Folk Roots' second annual ROOTSTOCK festival
Time: Noon - 8 p.m

The festival will feature hand-made crafts, local food vendors and a 1,000-square-foot hardwood dance floor under a spacious tent. Discounted advance tickets are available online via .

Featured dance bands include, in order of appearance: Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie, Paul "Lil' Buck" Sinegal & The McComb Veazey All-Stars, and Roddie Romero & The Hub City All-Stars with Special Guests.

“Cajun, zydeco and swamp pop music are of course a perfect complement to our amazing local foods, craft brews and handmade crafts,” notes LFR Executive Director Todd Mouton. “We are thrilled to be working with so many community partners again for this year's ROOTSTOCK,” Mouton adds.

Children’s activities, local food trucks, and craft beers from Bayou Teche Brewing will also be focal points of the new event. ROOTSTOCK will benefit the year-round programming of Louisiana Folk Roots, which includes the annual Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week and LFR’s Cajun & Creole Summer Camp for Kids.

“Louisiana Folk Roots was founded in 2000 with a mission to nurture, share and perpetuate Louisiana’s cultural expressions,” says LFR Board member and renowned Cajun musician Ray Abshire. “ROOTSTOCK does just that, while adding a great festival to the regional scene.”

Support for ROOTSTOCK is provided by Bayou Teche Brewing, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission, Louisiana Crafts Guild and other local businesses and community organizations.
