  Natchitoches Christmas Tour of Homes
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

President and Mrs. Chris Maggio invite you to a special night of Christmas magic at Northwestern State University. Join the Maggios at the Presdient's Home as you are welcomed to the historic campus, founded in 1884 as Louisiana State Normal School. Walk past the three remaining columns of the Bullard Mansion, a symbol of the university. Built in 1832, the mansion was the site of the Louisiana State Normal School. Watch for popup performances by the Creative & Performing Arts students and be sure to ask about the Legend of Isabella. The Old President's Home, built in 1927, is now the home of the Alumni Center. After visiting the Alumni Center, step next door to lovely Varnado Hall

Few things are better than Natchitoches at night during the Christmas season! Showing true Southern hospitality are Laureate House and Bayou Amulet House. The actual bayou was first called Bayou a la Mule. This is where mules were tied while their owners were conducting business. French and Spanish traders used this area as a meeting point. Laureate House and Bayou Amulet House are both located on Poete Street. Laureate House was built in 1840 and contains a cellar that was connected to the bayou. The house was restored in the 1950s. Bayou Amulet House was built in the 1850s and is surrounded by gardens. Poete Street is a lovely walking area with festive decorations!
