Seminars will be held throughout the show, and everyone can learn tips on fishing, kayaking, cooking, boat maintenance and other topics that can enhance their outdoor experience.

Redfish anglers will have the opportunity to enter the Louisiana Saltwater Series' redfish tournament. Tournament director Sam Barbera recently announced that this will be the first time that the series has allowed a "trailer to your launch" tournament. All teams will have a boat check very early on Saturday morning, and then they can drive and launch to any location and have to be back to the parking lot by 3 p.m.

The weigh-in will be live, on stage as part of the show. After teams have weighed in their fish, they will be available for show attendees to talk to and maybe pick up a tip or two. For entry information, go to the website, http://www.lasaltwaterseries.com/

The event features the second "Rice and Spice Jambalaya cook off", sponsored by Pontchartrain Ace Hardware, in cooperation with Toyota of Slidell. The winning team will carry home a first place trophy, along with a Cajun Classic 20-gallon cooking pot setup, valued at $500.

All teams will be judged by experienced cooking judges, as well as judged by attendees on Saturday afternoon in the "Peoples Choice." This means that everyone attending the show on Saturday from noon until the jambalaya runs out will have an opportunity to sample all of the entries and vote on their favorite team.
