Mothers Day Gift Idea! A copy of my cookbook makes a great gift for Mothers Day. Order here. This is our last weekend in New Orleans! We had friends over for hamburgers on the grill Thursday night, and will be saying our final goodbyes (at least for now!) over the weekend. There are many mixed feelings about the upcoming move, but we'll be a lot closer to Jim's family, and part of my family. The family I leave behind here will come visit. The friends will too. For the recipes this week, I'm starting with stuffed crab fingers, a favorite of mine. Next up, a stuffed tomato recipe to keep on hand for when the summer tomatoes are in full swing. And finally, something for the grill; the weather's been perfect. Take a little trip to Jamaica with some jerk chicken. You won't hear from me next week as we'll be enroute crossing the country; I'll be back in time for some recipes for Memorial Day. Enjoy these recipes, stay safe and healthy, and, as always, let me know what's on your mind. Best regards, Susan Ford, Publisher and Editorial Director P.S. You can easily share this newsletter with family and friends, just use the link at the bottom of the page. Previous week's recipes: • Smothered Steak & Greens • Creole-Italian Barbecue Shrimp • Crawfish Hash Eggs Benedict

Stuffed Crab Fingers This is the taste of summer. If you don't have access to crab claws, sub in crab meat and make patties. A salad on the side makes dinner! |

Stuffed Tomatoes Creole tomato season is runnning a little late this year, in part because of the foot of snow we had back in the winter. But when they do come in, or the delicious summer tomatoes from your part of the country, this is a good recipe to have on hand. |

Jerk Chicken I'm not sure why jerk is on my mind, perhaps because of the plethora of peppers growing in the container garden in my back yard. My cookbook collection is packed up, so this one comes from the excellent recipe site epicurious.com. |
