We are deep into cooking the food for the July/August edition of Louisiana Kitchen & Culture; on the menu this week, a modern take on an old fashioned banana pudding, Shrimp Corn Dogs with Candied Pepper Glaze, Lemon Shrimp and Green Beans, Salted Caramel Corn Ice Cream, Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers, and a wondrous shrimp salad. Divine.

The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience is happening this week. The Royal Street Stroll is tonight, and you'll find us at the Grand Tastings Friday night and Saturday afternoon. I usually am one of the judges for the competition, but was not available that week this time around, so I'm really looking forward to tasting what our finest chefs have to offer this year.

Enjoy this week's recipes, share them with family and friends, and, as always, let me know what's on your mind

Best regards,

Susan Ford

BBQ Ribs

Babyback Ribs

My great-nephew Colin likes food as much as I do; this is from a family barbecue a couple of summers ago. He'll inform you that he's a big boy now! You start these ribs in the oven, then finish them off on the grill. Slather them with your favorite sauce and devour.

Louisiana Seafood Boil

Louisiana Seafood Boil

You can't go wrong with a back yard seafood boil; this one is loades with crabs and shrimp, then plenty of add-ons to soak up all the great flavor. Line the tables with newspaper, and put out plenty of paper towels.
