Greetings, I hope this note finds you safe and healthy, and taking care to keep yourself that way. The weather is spectacular here in New Orleans this week- sunny, temperatures in the high 70s, light breeze, almost no humidity. Perfect! We walked all through the beautiful Audubon Park yesterday; not sure what our route will be today, but we will definitely get out and enjoy the weather.

I made another loaf of Italian bread this week; Jim says it's as good as any bread his grandmother ever made. Any time an Italian tells you that you KNOW it's good- here's the recipe. It sounds daunting but it really isn't, and it gets easier each time you make it as you become famiar with how the dough is going to behave.

And, check out the peanut butter cookie recipe I shared on the Louisiana Kitchen & Culture Facebook page; it is the gold standard of peanut butter cookies. If you're not alread our fan, click the link to follow us while you're there.

What are you cooking that you're really enjoying? I really miss sharing food with friends and neighbors.

Below, you'll find a few more recipes to try this week--cook something tasty!

Boudin Benedict

Boudin Benedict

Here's a great brunch idea for Mother's Day, if you're lucky enough to be celebrating with a mother in your family. If you don't have access to boudin, swap the boudin out for your favorite crab cake. Yum! Benedict of any sort is my favorite for brunch.

Mama's Cajun Meat Pies

This easy recipe makes 6 meat pies; they freeze nicely if you don't want to serve them all at once. After shaping, wrap tightly and freeze individually; no need to thaw before baking. You may need to increase the baking time slightly.
