Louisiana Kitchen is launching in print
The first issue goes on press mid-March with a press run of approximately 20,000 copies. It will be distributed at tourist information centers around Louisiana; via in-room and concierge distribution at select hotels and B&Bs; it will be sold at select retail outlets, and mailed to paid subscribers.
The editorial product is an informed, intellectual exploration about our food culture and heritage, how it has evolved over time, and how it continues to evolve today. Each issue will contain at least one culinary adventure, with an insider’s guide to what is unique and interesting in both the obvious hot spots and hidden gems of our state. Think Saveur magazine, but exclusively about Louisiana, or Garden & Gun, but all food and all Louisiana.
Kable Media Services will use the first issue to secure national newsstand distribution, although a heavy focus will be placed on the all-important Southeast and Texas drive markets.
AdvertisingCharter advertisers will receive a 30% discount on ads placed in the premiere issue, and a 10% discount for ads placed during the remainder of 2012. Call me at 504-208-9959 or 415-819-3521 or email susan@kitchenandculture.com with questions or for more details. Premiere issues are collector's items, plus, a year from now you'll be able to brag about how smart you were to pick a winner out of the gate.
Download the 2012 media kit with rates and an editorial overview. Premium positions are available; book early for best positioning.
Our weekly email newsletter is now reaching more than 18,000 people (and growing quickly), with readership in Louisiana being #1 at 40%, followed by Texas (15%), Florida (6%), Georgia (5%), and California (4%). Our email advertising rates are affordable and, in addition to print, should be an important part of your marketing mix.
NOTE: LTPA member rates on both the newsletter and in the magazine are slightly lower. Consider becoming a member if you are not one already; if you are a member, contact me or Tiffany Schultz for your additional discount. EditorialYour contact is Jyl Benson, Louisiana Kitchen editor in chief: jyl@kitchenandculture.com, 504-913-4747. Pitch her story ideas; topics you're interested in writing about for an occasional guest blog or column in the magazine; we're also looking for "culinary ambassadors" in all regions of the state. We'd love to hear from you if you have something to contribute.
Jyl and I will both be at the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association's annual Summit in Shreveport next week. Call or email either of us if you would like to schedule a meeting.
We maintain an active calendar of events around the region on our website. Register for a free account and you can post your own events to the calendar, or email details and pictures to events@kitchenandculture.com and we'll post it for you. Contact Jim Capparell for more information on the calendar: jim@kitchenandculture.com, 504-208-9959 or 415-819-3522. The events calendar is frequently viewed on our web site and is the source for the events we include on our newsletter, so make sure your regional events are included.
Jyl and I both look forward to this launch, and a continued relationship with you. Please join us in making 2012 a great year.
My best regards,
