The music festival is being established to salute individuals, organizations and companies for their ongoing philanthropic efforts to improve the quality of life for people in all walks of life. The first honoree to be announced is Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge, more recipients will be announced soon.
The event, which is free to the public and family friendly, features a Vendor Village, visual artists, festival food favorites and beverages. Lawn seating, so bring your chairs. As a musician, band leader, singer/songwriter, promoter, activist and musical entrepreneur Henry Turner Jr. is well known for mentoring musical talent. For these efforts October 28, 2015 was proclaimed Henry Turner Jr. Day in the city of Baton Rouge. As a direct result of this honor he, in turn, will now pay homage to others in the city whose continuing efforts make Baton Rouge a better place. |
