Susan Ford

While much of the rest of the country swelters, we're sunny and mid 70s here at the Shore. There's a triathlon in the city this weekend, and the cycling portion will pass through our neighborhood; we'll have to plan our daily walk accordingly. Otherwise, an uneventful weekend lies ahead.

For the recipes, first up, an easy broiled salmon recipe that I love for a quick weeknight dinner. It's also in my cookbook; the cookbook includes recipes for the parsley pilaf it's served over, and a marinated summer salad that's delicious on the side. Next, a braised pork manwich that offers both a slow cooker option and a pressure option, depending on your time and preference. And finally, an Italian hoagie, because we have good Italian sausage in the fridge. It's one of Jim's favorites.

Enjoy these recipes, stay safe and healthy, and, as always, let me know what's on your mind.

Best regards,

Broiled Salmon

Broiled Salmon; In the Cookbook

This recipe is quick and easy, perfect for a busy weeknight. It's also fancy enough for a dinner party. The cookbook includes a recipe for a Parsley Rice Pilaf and a Marinated Summer Salad, to round out the meal.

Braised Pork Manwich

Braised Pork Manwich

This one offers a slow cooker and a pressure cooker option, depending on how you prefer to cook this. There is nominal prep work and, aside from seasoning the pork and sautéing the onion, it's a hands-off recipe for a stress-free meal.

Italian Hoagie

Italian Hoagie

I have some good Italian sausage in the refrigerator; Jim's going to grill it tonight (Thursday) along with some sweet summer corn. I'll cook the peppers and onions on the stovetop, and probably cook a little spaghetti to serve on the side, instead of serving sandwich-style.
