Warm Cranberry Brie With Pecans

Serves a crowd

  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 (16 oz) Brie round
  • 1 (16 oz ) can whole cranberries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons spiced rum (orange juice may be substituted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • assorted apple slices, crackers, pear slices

Preheat oven to 350˚F. Bake pecans in a single layer on a sheet for 5 minutes until toasted.

Trim rind from top of Brie leaving a a 1/3 inch border at the top. Place Brie on a baking sheet. Stir together the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, spiced rum(or orange juice) and nutmeg. Spread mixture evenly over top of Brie round.

Bake Brie for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped toasted pecans.

Serve wth the assortment of sliced apples and pears and your favorite crackers.
