TWO GREAT CHEFS, ONE GREAT NIGHT WINE DINNER
Amici Ristorante & Bar, the nouveau Sicilian eatery located on Magazine Street, will host a wine dinner on Friday, April 17 starting at 7 pm featuring guest chef Jasper Mirabile Jr. of Jasper’s located in Kansas city, and Amici executive chef Chad Matrana. The Sicilian nouveau five-course menu was crafted by the duo and will include wine pairings with each selection. Additionally, chef Mirabile will autograph copies of his cookbooks, which will be available for sale and will conduct a mozzarella making demonstration. Cost to attend the dining soiree is $85 per person – plus tax and gratuity – and seating is limited. Advanced reservations are required by calling, 504.300.1250. Amici Ristorante & Bar is located at 3218 Magazine Street and offers free off-street parking.

1st Course Antipasta
Mozzarella 2.0: Fresh pulled mozzarella, Creamy Burrata & Homemade Ricotta, Sicilian Pizza Bread and Fig Preserves
2nd Course Insalata
Octopus & Shrimp Salad: Marinated Octopus & Shrimp with shaved red onions, sea asparagus, heirloom tomatoes & Blood orange vinaigrette
3rd Course Risotto
Risotto Della Casa: Creamed risotto, vine ripened cantaloupe, crispy prosciutto & arugula pesto
4th Course Entrata
Pork Osso Bucco: Slow roasted pork shank over soft Parmesan polenta finished with Battuto Jus & cipollini onion marmalata
5th Course Dolce
Olive Oil Cake: Served with Bellini Ricotta Gelato & balsamic glazed macerated peaches
Chef Mirabile is the owner/chef of Jasper’s, Kansas City’s most award -winning restaurant. The nationally acclaimed chef has made multiple guest appearances at The James Beard House in New York and has been featured in several major newspapers and magazines across the USA. Recently, Zagat named Jasper's one if America's Top 25 Italian Restaurants and Travel & Leisure named Jasper's one of USA's Top Italian Restaurants.
He hosts a popular weekly radio show on called Live! From Jasper’s Kitchen and is chairman of Slow Food Kansas City, Vice President (Midwest) of Gruppo Ristoratori, and board member of The American Institute of Wine and Food Kansas City. Additionally, Mirabile is the Wisconsin Cheese Chef Ambassador, author of two cookbooks (he is currently working on his third book entitled On The Cannoli Trail) and recipe creator for many local and national companies such as Hen House Markets, American Italian Pasta Co., Wisconsin Milk Marketing, Farmland, Plugra Butter, Smart Chicken & Red Gold Tomatoes.
Amici Ristorante & Bar is located at 3218 Magazine Street and serves nouveau Sicilian cuisine daily for lunch and dinner. Hours: Lunch 11:30am to 3pm daily; Dinner 3pm to 10 pm Sunday thru Thursday and 3pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday. Chef Chad Matrana crafts traditional Sicilian cuisine with a modern flair, as well as signature coal-fired oven pizzas.
