Audubon Zoo Pancakes (Children's Recipe)

Breakfast/Brunch

Serves 4

Ingredients: 
  • 2 cups Bisquick mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • shortening
  • maple syrup (or your favorite syrup) and butter for serving

Method: 

Beat Bisquick, egg, milk and cinnamon with an egg beater until smooth. Lightly grease skillet with shortening. Heat skillet over medium heat until a few drops of water will dance around the edges of the pan when sprinkled over it.

Pour about 1/4 cup batter into the hot skillet. With a spoon add small amounts of batter to make feet, ears, tails, etc., forming animal shapes. When bubbles rise on the top of the pancake, flip the pancake and cook until golden. Serve with butter and syrup.
