Baked Acorn Squash

Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Cut acorn squash into two halves. and scrape out all seeds. Place 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup into each half of the acorn squash. Add whole cloves (optional)
Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in small roasting pan or cookie sheet. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until tender.
Remove and let cool slightly.
Serve on plate and guest can eat with spoon out of skin.
