Jack Daniel's Barbecue Sauce

Serves 6

  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeno chili, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons Jack Daniiel's whiskey
  • 8 ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup packed brown suggar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tblespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses

Melt 1 stick butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic and jalapeno and saute until tender. Stir in the chili powder

Add the whiskey and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the tomato paste, coffee, chicken stock, 1 stick butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and molasses. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
