Makes 1/2 cup

Ingredients: 
  • 3 tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 2 tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 2 tbsp. dried sweet basil
  • 1 tbsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1 tbsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp. freshly ground white pepper
  • 1 tbsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp. kosher or sea salt
  • Dash chili powder
  • Dash cumin powder

There are a great many commercial products on the market which are all excellent.
For fun try your hand at it and when you come up with just the right proportions it can make a nice gift.

Method: 

 

In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix dry ingredients together using a fork or place in jar, cover and shake thoroughly.
You can also use a coffee grinder - make sure you clean it first.
Store in a tightly sealed container.

Note: For blackened seasoning add an additional tbsp. each of paprika and cayenne pepper.
